Adios for a week!

Hi All,

We are headed to Cape Cod tomorrow, so we won't be posting for awhile. We are renting a house with my sister Megan and her family. The house is right across the street from the beach and they have a beach wheelchair. I can't wait to go swimming and relax on the beach! We are psyched.
I've been sick for the past few days with a bad cold. I took today off from work and hope to be all better by tomorrow!

Venting and a tiny update

Hello All,

Tomorrow morning between 9-11 am our new table is being delivered. Yeah! Tomorrow night Kyle has his 20th high school reunion. He’s looking forward to it!

Below are a few pics from the 4th of July. Of course, I forgot to take pictures most of the day, so I tried to catch up at the very end of the cook-out!

We had a great 4th. We headed to my mum's for a cookout. We skipped the parade this year. I'm not a huge fan of crowds and I don't want to bump into people from high school that I have no desire to reconnect with. Anyway, after the cookout we headed to my friend Megan's parent's house and played games and had a yummy dinner. It was a great 4th and b-day for me :) It was also nice to have 6 days off from work but boy did they fly by!


My first day back at work started off bad! I am being forced to switch positions again. This happened before around 3 years ago. They are making me switch jobs with a co-worker and I’m just dreading it b/c her job is much more boring than mine & I know it firsthand b/c I used to do it!. I guess this is just YET another sign that I desperately need a new job.

I did apply for the position with HUD, but I don’t have a great feeling about the essay questions I had to submit. I’ve decided I’m going to give myself a solid year to actively job search. Hopefully it won’t take that long. I know I should be thankful that I have a job. It is just a really negative and oppressive environment and it can really bring ya down. Ugh!!

Anyway, I need to try not to let all this work stuff bring me down. I keep saying one of my favorite quotes to myself by Eleanor Roosevelt," No one can make you feel inferior without your consent." Hopefully I'm going thru this to teach me something!!!!

Below is a picture of our new kitchen table we are having delivered on Saturday July 14, 2007.

I had a really hard time finding a table that I fit under without banging my knees b/c my current wheelchair sits a lot higher than my previous chairs. Anyway, I finally found this table and it was a really good deal too! We bought two extra chairs so that we can seat six people if need be.

Our Visit to Keene, NH

This past weekend we took 2 of our niece's with us to Keene, NH to visit Cait's dad. We had a nice time. Above is a picture of Cait's dad, stepmother Barbara, Lauren, Cait & me!

It is about a 2.5 hour drive to Keene. We left on Saturday morning (6/30/06) a little after 10 am. We arrived @ Bob & Barbara's condo shortly after lunch. We had lunch and headed to the pool. Below is a shot of Lauren (Left), Rosie & Courtney (Right.) We had a great time. The two girls get along really well as they are only 6 weeks apart. Courtney is Cait's brother's oldest child and Lauren is Megan's middle child. Megan is Cait's middle sister.

After swimming for a few hours, we had dinner at a yummy Mexican place. Oh, Rosie even hopped in the pool but she was too afraid of the deep end so I had to dive in and rescue her. Below is a cute shot of Rosie with one of the hats the girls got at the restaurant. This is Courtney's favorite shot of Rosie!

After dinner we headed to Brattleboro, VT to see Nancy Drew, one of the only kid movies out that the girls had not seen. Both girls REALLY wanted to see it and we thought it was pretty cute!! We all thought it was pretty cool that we had been to three states in one day (MA, NH & VT) except for Courtney who was in RI that morning, so she actually beat us all with 4 states. I guess that is the advantage of the New England states being so close.

The next day, we headed back to Dad' condo and had breakfast with them. After that, we did a little shopping in downtown Keene and both girls bought chocolate lab Webkinz, which are the new Craze!
